Tuna Carnosine Concentrate

This product is manufactured from the broth of tuna or bonito through filtration, desalination, concentration, blending (with maltodextrin), sterilization, and drying.

The product does not fall within the scope of a new food ingredient, and therefore its review has been terminated. It may be used as a conventional food ingredient. Food safety requirements shall comply with the applicable provisions for seasonings under China’s current national food safety standards.

Mycoprotein from Fusarium venenatum

This product is produced using the Mycoprotein from Fusarium venenatum MM-815 as the production microorganism. It is manufactured through fermentation, nucleic acid reduction, inactivation, filtration, and other processing steps. Its primary nutritional component is protein (≥50.0 g/100 g, on a dry basis).

The product has been determined to be substantially equivalent to the Mycoprotein from Fusarium venenatum approved as a new food ingredient under NHC Announcement No. 7 of 2025. Accordingly, its review has been terminated.

Except for the production strain, all other requirements shall comply with those specified in the previously announced approval for Mycoprotein from Fusarium venenatum.

Banana Flower

This product consists of the flower of Musa × paradisiaca L., a plant belonging to the genus Musa of the family Musaceae.

As banana flower has a long history of human consumption in several provinces of China, it does not qualify as a new food ingredient, and its review has therefore been terminated. It may be used as a food ingredient but must be consumed only after cooking.

At present, 102 substances have been included in China’s Terminated Review List for New Food Ingredients.
