It includes GB 14880-2012 and a series of supplementary announcements on nutrition enhancers issued by Chinese regulatory authorities. Information on the nutrition enhancers allowed to be used in China, the types of food that can be fortified and requirements for use is available in the database.
At the same time, the using limit of nutrients in special dietary food (e.g., infant formula food, FSMP, Sports nutrition foods, etc.) collected according to the corresponding product standards is included in the database as well.
Notes:
1. Common food: The amount of each nutrition enhancer used refers to the actual amount added during the production process.
2. Special dietary food: The using limit in GB 14880 refers to the actual amount of each nutrient added in the production process; the using limit from corresponding product standards refers to the content of each nutrient in the final product.
How to register new nutrition enhancers or expand the scope and amount of use:
If enterprises want to use new nutrition enhancers or expand the scope of use or amount of current ones, they shall submit an registration application for new food additives to the National Health Commission in advance.
